The UFC brings us a stacked card of action this week from Madison Square Garden in New York City, headlined by a Welterweight title fight between champion Jack Della Maddalena and former Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. I went over every fight on the card to give my predictions and best bets, so let's get into it.
Odds provided by Duelbits accurate as of 11/12/2025
Top pound-for-pound fighters go head-to-head here at Welterweight with legacy on the line. Jack Della Maddalena is a striker with high-level boxing and solid defensive grappling, which he showed by shutting down Belal Muhammad to claim the belt earlier this year. Islam Makhachev moves up after years as the Lightweight champion, with his dangerous grappling skills and much-improved striking, which he used to defend the title four times.
I like Makhachev to get the second belt here, as he has phenomenal control and submission skills on the ground, and despite his good defence in his last fight, we have seen JDM controlled on the ground before.
Prediction: Makhachev by 3rd Round Submission
The Flyweight title is on the line as two champions collide in this super fight. Valentina Shevchenko is a dominant champion who has used her well-rounded skills to earn 10 title-fight wins since 2018, including a decision over Manon Fiorot in her last fight. Weili Zhang is a super athletic fighter who moves up in weight after a dominant run as the Strawweight champion, where she showed elite striking and grappling skills, holding the belt twice and defending it three times.
I lean towards Shevchenko, as she has the strength to wrestle with Zhang, and the power she showed against Fiorot could create big moments that win her the fight.
Prediction: Shevchenko by Decision
Title hopes hang in the balance as top Welterweights face off here. Sean Brady is a dominant grappler who comes in having won three straight, including a submission over former champion Lean Edwards in his last fight. Michael Morales is an undefeated striker with a long reach and big power, coming in off first-round knockouts over veterans Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny.
I'll go with Morales in this one, as his physical strength and reach could give Brady trouble controlling him, and he holds a massive striking advantage.
Prediction: Morales by 2nd Round TKO
Welterweight strikers collide in this fun matchup. Leon Edwards is a former champion who used his very technical striking and strong clinch game to win 12 straight fights before losing his last two to strong grapplers, Belal Muhammad and Sean Brady. Carlos Prates is a deadly knockout artist with a long reach that he uses well to mix up his weapons at range.
I'm taking the former champion in Edwards, as this is a much better matchup for him than the grapplers he has faced recently, and he has the striking to replicate what Ian Garry did to Prates early in their fight.
Prediction: Edwards by Decision
Ranked Lightweights square off to open the main card. Beneil Dariush is a skilled fighter with solid striking and very tricky grappling, though in recent years, his durability has been an issue, with two knockout losses in his last three fights and a drop by Renato Moicano. Benoit Saint-Denis is a finisher who pushes a relentless pace with his striking and mixes in takedowns with a nasty submission game.
I took BSD to get a knockout in this one, as I see his aggression being too much for Dariush to survive in his current form.
Prediction: Saint-Denis by 1st Round TKO Bet: Saint-Denis by TKO/KO
An intriguing grappling match goes down here at Middleweight. Bo Nickal is a credentialed wrestler looking to get back on track after his first UFC setback against Reinier de Ridder. Rodolfo Viera is a skilled submission grappler who has developed good pressure boxing over his time in the UFC, which he showed against Tresean Gore in his last fight.
I like Nickal to get back on track here as he has the wrestling to control Viera and avoid his submission game.
Prediction: Nickal by Decision
Exciting Middleweights square off in this can't-miss matchup. Roman Kopylov is a fast kickboxer with strong body kicks, though his cardio and grappling are questionable. Gregory Rodrigues is an all-action fighter who keeps constant pressure on the feet and also has the grappling skills to mix in takedowns and ground-and-pound.
I lean towards Rodrigues here as I feel his volume and pressure give him the edge, although his durability against a striker at the level of Kopylov gives me some hesitation.
Prediction: Rodrigues by 3rd Round TKO
Highly ranked Flyweights meet here, looking to push their way into title contention. Erin Blanchfield is a strong wrestler who is still just twenty-six years old, coming off a win over Rose Namajunas in a five-round matchup. Tracy Cortez is a well-rounded fighter with good boxing and a solid wrestling base.
I'll go with Blanchfield here, as she has the wrestling advantage and a similar level of striking, with more high-level experience.
Prediction: Blanchfield by Decision
Up-and-coming Bantamweights collide in this one. Malcolm Wellmaker is a knockout artist who quickly made a name for himself with first-round finishes of Cameron Saaiman and Kris Moutinho in his first two UFC fights. Cody Haddon returns here after over a year out of action since his debut victory over Dan Argueta.
I'm going with Haddon here, as he has proven his grappling at the UFC level, and while Wellmaker has the highlights, he hasn't yet demonstrated a complete game. With that, Cody Haddon is this week's Underdog Best Bet of the Week.
Prediction: Haddon by Decision Bet: Haddon MoneyLine
Skilled grapplers go head-to-head here at Middleweight. Gerald Meerschaert is a tough and tricky grappler who has made a career of dragging opponents into deep waters and submitting them. Kyle Daukaus came back to the UFC with a bang, earning a first-round knockout of Michel Pereira, although he is traditionally more of a grappler with a dangerous submission game.
This is a good matchup for Daukaus, as he has the cardio and grappling to avoid falling into Meerschaert's game while maintaining a clear striking advantage.
Prediction: Daukaus by 3rd Round TKO
Featherweight veterans square off in this fun prelim matchup. Chepe Mariscal is a fun brawler who comes in having won his first five UFC fights, showcasing a well-rounded skill set. Pat Sabatini is a strong grappler who looks to build on his momentum after an impressive win over Joanderson Brito.
I'll go with Sabatini in this one, as his grappling advantage is clear, and Mariscal hasn't shown much finishing ability, which has been Sabatini's problem.
Prediction: Sabatini by Decision
Veteran and prospect collide here in this Strawweight prelim. Angela Hill is a high-volume kickboxer who has competed with the best in the division for many years, having evolved her game to feature solid grappling. Fatima Kline is a talented prospect with good striking and wrestling who has finished her last two opponents since moving to her proper weight class in the UFC.
I like Kline here as she is the much younger fighter who is still improving her game while already having the skills to match Hill anywhere.
Prediction: Kline by Decision
Middleweights looking to establish their place in the division square off here. Baisangur Susurkaev looks to keep building his name after earning a contract on Dana White's Contender Series and then debuting in the UFC a week later with a submission win. Eric McConico is a tough striker coming off his first UFC win with a close decision over Cody Brundage.
Susurkaev should handle business here, as he appears to be on a different level than McConico and is also over 10 years younger, giving him a significant physical advantage.
Prediction: Susurkaev by 1st Round TKO
Fun clash of styles opens the card here at Lightweight. Viacheslav Borshchev is a fast kickboxer with dangerous power, tough to finish, though his grappling has gotten him into trouble. Matheus Camilo is a grappler looking to bounce back from a UFC debut where he was looking good until he was caught in a submission by Gabe Green.
I lean Camilo here as he has the grappling to control Borshchev and good enough striking to avoid taking too much damage on the feet early.
Prediction: Camilo by Decision
